Copyvio on 500px FAQ in userspace
[edit]Hi Jeff - heads up that I've marked User:Jeff G./500px Marketplace Transition Contributor FAQ for speedy deletion as a copyright violation, since it's a copy-paste of a non-free FAQ from 500px. Userpages are subject to the same licensing and copyright rules as any other namespace. Thanks, ~Kevin Payravi (talk) 19:19, 25 June 2025 (UTC)
A kitten for you!

Your Edit on Category:Islam in Timor-Leste
[edit]Hello Jeff, I guess we are not understanding each other. I said, vou can delete my deletion request, but I didn't said, you could put back, my edit to move the category back to Category: Islam in East Timor. All Categories about the country in SEA are using the name "East Timor", the move of the category to "Islam in Timor-Leste" is making the name incoherent to the rest of all categories. Greetings, JPF (talk) 17:23, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- Is a redirect to Category: Islam in East Timor for you ok. I do not want to let you think I want to start an edit war. JPF (talk) 17:27, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- @J. Patrick Fischer: What is the official name of the country in English? When did it change, how, and why? How do you know that? Do you have references? What are the other projects (especially English Wikipedia) doing with regard to these names? What are the relative sizes of the Google hit quantities? — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 22:03, 29 June 2025 (UTC)
- All Commons categories are using "East Timor", including main category. Major Languages having two versions, only English Wikipedia (why especially?) just changed to Timor-Leste. German Wikipedia, which has the biggest content about the country is using "Osttimor", chosen by editors' voting. I do not know, why you are asking for references, when I am asking for using the status quo, not a single edit in a minor category. JPF (talk) 18:33, 30 June 2025 (UTC)
- @J. Patrick Fischer: Having reviewed en:special:diff/1288984664#Requested move 16 December 2024, Category:Timor-Leste is the appropriate name, along with subcategory Category:Islam in Timor-Leste. If you want to start a CFD, please see COM:CFD. I reverted your incomplete request edit entirely in Special:Diff/1050321178, as just tagging with {{Delete|Empty}} was incomplete after the contents had moved. Please search {{Delete}} for "required". Also, you forgot to ping me on your user talk page. — 🇺🇦Jeff G. ツ please ping or talk to me🇺🇦 11:11, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
- The discussion concerns the enWP, not Commons. There is no discussion on COM:CFD about this subject and enWP does not decide in favour of Commons. There has been no change to the status quo here. The move also only affects a subcategory and not the main category Category:East Timor. As long as there has been no decision here on Commons, the subcategories must be aligned with the main category.
- But that is not part of the discussion here. I'm very surprised that a Wikipedian who has been active for 20 years is being threatened with blocking because he can't cope with the form of deletion requests here. This is not my home project and I don't often submit deletion requests for empty pages here. JPF (talk) 12:20, 1 July 2025 (UTC)
